PDL-140/10 Compressed Air Dryer-Maintenance of old equipment in 2011(Refurbish)

Ambient air contains oil, water, dust, and other contaminants. When compressed, its temperature and humidity rise, leading to moisture formation that can corrode or damage pipelines. The PDL-140/10 Pipe Dedicated Compressed Air Dryer integrates a high-efficiency air cooler, oil separator, and dryer into a single container, enabling real-time dew-point detection, alarms, and control.

The PDL-140/10 Pipe Dedicated Compressed Air Dryer delivers high-efficiency purification, reliable dew point control, and intelligent automation for oil, natural gas, and industrial pipeline applications.

Engineered by Hangzhou Boda Purity Equipment Co., Ltd., this pipeline-dedicated compressor dryer combines cutting-edge technology with industrial reliability. Its containerized structure ensures easy transport and field operations, and delivers high purification performance, providing users in the oil and gas industry with dependable, safe, and dry compressed air.

PDL DRYER

What is a Compressed Air Dryer?

A compressed air dryer is an industrial air dryer that removes moisture and contaminants from compressed air before it reaches end-use systems. When air is compressed, it contains high levels of water vapor that can condense inside pipelines, causing corrosion, equipment failure, and production inefficiency. Compressed air dryers, including desiccant air dryers and multiple filters, eliminate this problem by drying air to a specific dew point.

The PDL-140/10 compressed air dryer operates on advanced principles similar to BODA’s PSA air purification systems, combining cooling, filtration, and adsorption technologies. Equipped with a PLC control system, it continuously monitors the dew point, automatically regenerates desiccant materials, and provides fault alarms to ensure safe operation. The result is clean, dry air suitable for high-demand environments such as oilfields, natural gas pipelines, and chemical processing plants.

This compressor dryer from BODA GAS TECH is designed to maintain consistent performance even in harsh industrial conditions. With its integrated structure, energy-saving regeneration design, and multiple protection systems, it guarantees reliable drying efficiency and prolonged service life for critical compressed air systems.

Energy Efficient Compressed Air Dryers

Energy efficiency is a key advantage of the PDL-140/10 industrial air dryer. The system is engineered with low regeneration gas consumption and low pressure loss, significantly reducing operational energy costs. Utilizing optimized heat exchange design and intelligent dew point control, the unit minimizes unnecessary air loss during regeneration, achieving energy savings of up to 15% compared to conventional models.

BODA’s design philosophy emphasizes environmental sustainability without compromising performance. The integrated container system reduces installation time and leakage points. Optional MODBUS or Ethernet connectivity allows for remote monitoring and optimization, enabling operators to manage energy use in real time.

Through BODA’s advanced microcomputer control system, operators can track energy performance metrics, schedule regeneration cycles, and automatically adjust drying capacity based on air load. These intelligent energy management features make the PDL-140/10 not just a compressor dryer but a smart energy-saving solution for modern industrial systems.

Why Use a Compressed Air Dryer?

Safe Operation

The PDL-140/10 air dryer enhances system safety by preventing moisture-related failures in compressed air pipelines. Corrosion, freezing, and water hammer are major safety risks in high-pressure air systems. BODA’s unit includes multi-layer safety controls, such as automatic dew point monitoring, multiple fault alarms, and pressure protection systems. The containerized structure ensures mechanical integrity and operational stability under varying field conditions, particularly in remote pipeline maintenance or offshore oilfield operations.

High-Quality End Product

For industries like oil, gas, and chemical processing, the quality of compressed air directly affects product purity and system reliability. The PDL-140/10 delivers ultra-dry, oil-free air with a pressure dew point as low as -40°C. Its multi-stage purification system—including a high-efficiency cooler, oil remover, and desiccant air dryer—ensures contaminant-free airflow. This high-quality output prevents oxidation, maintains process integrity, and supports compliance with international pipeline standards. The integrated filtration also extends the lifespan of downstream valves, sensors, and instruments.

Peace of Mind

Operators can rely on BODA’s proven after-sales service and product quality. Hangzhou Boda Purity Equipment Co., Ltd. has over two decades of experience supplying air purification and gas separation systems worldwide, with certifications including ISO9001, ISO14001, and GC2 industrial installation licenses. The PDL-140/10 unit’s reliability minimizes downtime, while its real-time diagnostics and remote control capability provide peace of mind during critical operations. Optional on-site training and lifetime service support further ensure that users can maintain continuous, trouble-free operation.

Maintenance

Daily

Before each shift, open the blowdown valves of the equipment, as well as the pre-filter and post-filter (check if the optional automatic blowdown valve is working normally);

Every Week

  1. Check if the equipment is operating well (including working switching, regeneration, pressure equalization, etc.);
  2. Check the equipment’s operating conditions, inlet and outlet pressure, inlet temperature, and compressed air flow rate;
  3. Check if the muffler is dirty or clogged. If the regeneration pressure is greater than 0.02MPa, clean or replace the muffler.
  4. Check if the control pilot air pressure is within 0.2-0.3MPa (for pneumatic diaphragm valves) or 0.5-0.7MPa (for pneumatic angle seat valves);
  5. Check the pressure drop of the pre-filter and post-filter. If the pressure drop is greater than 0.05MPa, replace the filter element.

Every Quarter

  1. Inspect the pre-filter and post-filter elements for clogging and possible damage, and replace them as needed.
  2. Purge dust from the equipment’s safety relief valve with compressed air.
  3. Check the dew point condition of the equipment.
  4. If the equipment is equipped with an optional dew point detector, calibrate the dew point meter and probe.

Every Year

  1. Shut down the equipment, cut off the power supply, close the main inlet and outlet stop valves, and completely relieve the pressure; open the dryer’s filling port to check for lack of desiccant; inspect the desiccant and replace it if it is oil-contaminated or severely powdered;
  2. Remove and inspect the air outlet valve, repair, maintain, or replace it as needed;
  3. Remove the air inlet valve and exhaust valve, inspect, and replace worn valve seats and seals;
  4. Check if the pneumatic valve cylinder is leaking or if the seals are worn.
  5. Check if the control pilot pressure-reducing valve is intact.
  6. Check if the control pilot solenoid valve is intact.
  7. Check the muffler for clogging and replace it as needed.
